Tae Kwon Do is a Korean unarmed martial art designed for self-defense. It is more than just that, however, it is a way of thinking and living. Its discipline, technique and mental training are the building blocks for a strong sense of justice, courage, humility and resolve.

Literally, Tae means various types of movements that use the feet to kick or stamp. Kwon means various types of movements that use the hands to strike or block. Do means the way.

Therefore, Tae Kwon Do is a form of mental and physical training for self-defense and health.

Tae Kwon is a power that people use to develop an ability to use their bare hands and feet in techniques of offense and defense. These techniques include different movements that allow a practitioner to keep the greatest distance from his opponent and maximize his body's abilities to kick, punch, dodge and block. Do is a way of life based on self discipline. Therefore, Tae Kwon Do is a form of martial art that practitioners can use to display their powers through the techniques of offense and defense with their bare hands and feet.
